Lima, October 11, 2012.- Backus was recognised as one of the 10 most admired businesses in Peru. This award, granted in this country for the first time, recognises Backus? work concerning Reputation and Sustainability, a result of a good Corporate Governance, which ensures transparency, objectivity and competency for its clients, shareholders and other resource providers.
This recognition, awarded by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the G de Gesti?n Magazine, evaluates seven characteristics – financial strategy, financial management, innovation capability, commercial and marketing strategy, management team quality, corporate governance and social responsibility in business – through an investigation done among the country?s high level executives.

Peruvian Brewers Union Backus & Johnston S.A.A., is the leader in the Peruvian beer industry, with five production plants located in Lima, Arequipa, Cusco, Motupe and Pucallpa. It has a portfolio of well established national and international brands, which strive to satisfy consumers in the 142,000 points of sale throughout the country. During the year 2011, Backus registered net sales of S/. 3,005.5 million, and contributed S/. 2,224 million in taxes.
