Corinthia founder speaks at NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference

Alfred Pisani, Founder and Group Chairman, Corinthia Hotels (right) speaking on panel at New York University?s Annual International Hospitality Industry Investment ConferenceNEW YORK, New York – Alfred Pisani, Founder and Group Chairman, Corinthia Hotels, spoke on a panel entitled ?True Globalization of the Global Hospitality Industry? moderated by Peter Benudiz, Partner, MilBank. The 34th Annual New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference was held June 3-5, 2012 at the New York Marriott Marquis and hosted by the NYU-SCPS Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management ( scps.nyu.edu/tisch ). It is considered the premier hospitality finance and development forum of its kind.

At the Globalization session, Pisani noted that ?the globalization of travel has had, and will continue to have, a positive impact on the human race. As people get to know each other better through travel, on a one-to-one basis, it fosters goodwill, greater understanding, and, hopefully, a shared desire for peace.?

Alfred Pisani, self-made businessman, Founder and Chairman, Corinthia Hotels, started with a loan in the newly-independent island of Malta in the early 60s, building a fine dining restaurant that he grew to a hotel empire. Today, the Corinthia Hotels, celebrating its 50th anniversary year, is an internationally-acclaimed developer, owner, and operator of award-winning luxury hotels in some of the historic capitals of Europe, and most recently, London, which is its new flagship, considered by many to be a game-changer in that city’s luxury hotel accommodation.

This year marks the inaugural Alfred Pisani Corinthia Hotels Scholarship and the Tisch Center/Corinthia Hotels Internship and Management Training Program at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS) Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management.
