The Hospitality Apprenticeship Awards 2012?have been launched by the Hospitality Skills Alliance in partnership with the British Hospitality Association, the Institute of Hospitality and the British Institute of Innkeeping.
The Awards are being organised by HALM and are being supported by First4Skills, together with Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, Champagne Gosset, Wenlock Spring and Cactus TV.
The Awards recognise practical skills, competence and achievement from each of the different work areas in hospitality, including professional food preparation and cookery, restaurant service, licensed hospitality, housekeeping, reception, portering and concierge, customer service and team leading.? Restaurant Service will include both bar and wine service skills.
The Hospitality Apprenticeship Awards 2012 will build on the successful framework of Awards launched in 2010 and 2011.? There are three categories of Award:
- Hospitality Apprentice of the Year
Open to those registered on, or who have recently completed, an Advanced Apprenticeship in the hospitality industry and who have made an exceptional contribution, exceeded expectations, or overcome particular challenges;
- Hospitality Apprentice Employer of the Year
Open to all employers in the hospitality industry who can demonstrate a substantial and sustained commitment to developing their workforce through Apprenticeships, and the measurable impact this has had on tackling skill shortages and improving business performance;
- Hospitality Apprentice Provider of the Year
Open to all Colleges, Organisations and private training providers who deliver Apprenticeships in the hospitality industry and can demonstrate high levels of achievement.
The Awards will be presented at The Vinters Hall in the City of London on Tuesday, 2nd October 2012 as part of the Academy of Food and Wine Service Annual Awards.
The closing date for entries is Friday, 14th September 2012
