Starwood Hotels & Resorts has entered the Samoa market, with the announcement that it will operate two hotels on the island of Upolu Samoa, making it the first international hotel brand to enter the Pacific island market.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.(NYSE: HOT) announced Tuesday it has signed definitive management agreements to operate the 198-room?Aggie Grey?s Hotel & Bungalows?in Apia, which is currently closed and undergoing a renovation, and the 140-room?Aggie Grey?s Lagoon, Beach Resort & Spa?in Mulifanua, which join the Starwood Hotels & Resorts group immediately.

The Samoa properties will be managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Pacific group, not the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii and French Polynesia group, which manages the company?s 11 hotels and resorts in the Hawaiian Islands.
