Brian Morris joins Sheraton and Westin Kansas City at Crown Center in Missouri as Director of Sales
Sheraton and Westin Kansas City at Crown Center has appointed Brian Morris as director of sales. In this role, Morris is responsible for sales and marketing in support of Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center and The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center.
Morris is a 25-year hospitality veteran whose most recent role was director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California. There, Morris was responsible for top line sales in room revenue and assisted in growing food and beverage and ancillary revenues. Prior to that role, Morris was the Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch where he led and managed the sales team through a $63 million hotel transformation. In 2010, Hyatt awarded him the Business Travel Sales Team of the Year.
“Brian’s successful track record in driving room and meetings revenue will further support our mission in showcasing the one-stop shopping for meetings of all sizes and experiences with 150,000 square feet at the hotel complex, ” said Steve Shalit, general manager for Sheraton and Westin Kansas City at Crown Center. “His public relations experience, including work with social media channels, will help keep our sales team at the front of all the vehicles we have to continue to raise that awareness.”
Throughout his career, Brian has demonstrated success and achievement in growing sales and improving bottom line margins. He brings to the hotel progressive experience in driving revenues, budgeting and forecasting, trend analysis, change initiatives, market research and analytics as well as sales management and training, product marketing, and P&L management.
A major initiative that Morris is tasked with is increasing the group business segment. He is leading a team of 37.
