Accor plans to open 47 hotels in India by 2015

The announcement was made at the opening of Novotel, Accor’s mid-scale hotel brand, in Ahmedabad.

Novotel, Ahmedabad is the leading hotel operator’s 23rd property in India. It is also Accor’s second hotel in the city after Formule1, another brand owned by the Group, which opened this year.

Another hotel under the Novotel brand would start operating in Pune in two weeks, said Casse, adding that the French Group is also coming up with an upscale hotel in Gandhinagar.

“We are delighted with the rapid growth of our Novotel network in India. The opening of?Novotel Ahmedabadreinforces our focus on India as a key market for development. The potential of the city and the right partnership with?Kanakia Group?helped in tapping the market at the right time.”
