Thomas Willms apppointed board member of Deutsche Hospitality
Frankfurt, Germany – 8 May 2017 –
The Supervisory Board of Steigenberger Hotels AG has announced that Thomas Willms (56) will join the Management Board with effect from 1 June 2017. This additional appointment underlines the course of future expansion being pursued by Deutsche Hospitality.
In his new role as Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Willms will be responsible for Operations, Sales & Marketing of all brands, Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts, Jaz in the City and IntercityHotel.
Thomas Willms was previously in charge of all hotels and activities in Central and Eastern Europe in his capacity as Senior Vice President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Prior to this, he served as Managing Director of ArabellaStarwood Hotelmanagement GmbH, having earlier worked for both Maritim Hotels and the Intercontinental Hotels Group. He completed his studies at the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality in Chur, Switzerland in 2004, where he obtained an MBA. Mr. Willms is married and has two children.
As Chief Executive Officer, Puneet Chhatwal will continue to hold responsibility for Strategy, Business Development, Communication, Corporate Marketing and Social Responsibility. Matthias Heck, Chief Financial Officer and Labour Director, will as before be overall in charge of Finance, IT, Procurement and Construction. Dr. Ralf Corsten, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, has expressed his delight at the appointment of Thomas Willms, who has outstanding expertise and an excellent track record in hotel management, for all brands of Deutsche Hospitality.
